Wexford Wildfowl Reserve, Co. Wexford
Location: 3 km north of Wexford town
Grid Ref: T 08 24
Description: The Wexford Wildfowl Reserve, jointly owned by BirdWatch Ireland and NPWS, is situated in 936 hectares of reclaimed sloblands. It is one of Ireland's finest bird sites and is an internationally important wetland. Habitats include wet grassland and tillage, a brackish-water drainage channel and reedbeds. Pools have been created to attract passage waders and wildfowl
Birds: The area is renowned for the wide diversity and density of its birdlife. Up to 10,000 Greenland White-fronted Geese occur in winter, a third of the world population. Internationally important numbers of Bewick's Swans and Pale-bellied Brent Geese occur. It attracts waders and wildfowl from Wexford Harbour, where an internationally important flock of Black-tailed Godwits and good numbers of Scoters winter. Slavonian Grebes are regular. Breeding birds include Pochard, Shoveler, Reed and Sedge Warbler, Cuckoo and Tree Sparrow.
Viewing: There is an observation tower for viewing the reserve. The Pump House hide and Pat Walsh hide overlook parts of the reserve. Other facilities include a visitor centre, audio visual display and a wildfowl collection. Open all year round

Aqua Club at Kelly's Resort Hotel, Rosslare Strand, Co. Wexford - is open to non-residents, the Aqua Club has 2 swimming pools, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, sun bed, aromatherapy, beauty treatment, plunge pool and an outdoor Canadian hot tub.
